From House to Home
Looking for some cool ideas to transform your kitchen or bedroom in to something straight off of HGTV? As an agent who previews homes on a daily basis, I find myself constantly brainstorming the possibilities and potential of each and every room. I preview homes not only to better understand the market and neighborhoods, but also to provide myself creative inspiration when it comes to interior and exterior design concepts. There is something special about walking in to a craftsman style bungalow knowing that soon enough; that house will become a home for a lucky buyer. The process of getting there is where the fun lies.
I recently discovered the website Houzz.com, which is now essential to my house-to-home process. It is also a great tool if you are looking to improve your home’s value with some renovation projects. It has everything from farmhouse sinks to frameless showers, breakfast nooks to double vanities, and walk-in closets to hidden bookcase doors. You can shop almost anything you find on there, contact professional contractors, and ask other members for advice.
My process involves creating “ideabooks” for specific projects where I can save certain concepts I like, print them out, and show them to my contractor. Next time you are thinking up ideas for your next home improvement project, don’t risk the end results not meeting your expectations.
